1. 8 - PERFECT HOSTESS - Handled wet ok and worked home soundly 1st-up at MV but all her dry form is either very good, or luckless. She won her maiden 2nd-up last prep then went on to run 4th in a Twilight Glow Stks (on dry). In very light after claim.
2. 3 - LUMINOUS HARMONY - Beaten 3L by Majestic Music (very smart) in G2 fresh in Adelaide. She walked in 2nd-up last prep then led and sprinted nicely to win at Flemington. Gate awkward but said it 1000m times, one turn here at sprint trips and, it’s race 8… Goes very close!!
3. 2 - FORMALITE - Luckless 2nd-up. Ordinary in G2 3rd-up. Had plenty against (ran ok !) latest. Back to own sex. Had form around top-shelf fillies last prep.

Here is what he wrote:

1. 14 - SO YOU THINK - Huge talent. Terrific 1st-up when just missed More Than Great who had chased home Denman prior, dominant win in Gloaming beating Gathering who is very competitive with top staying 3yo’s. Doubt was suited back in trip in Caulfield Guineas and certainly wasn’t suited being poleaxed at start in total on-pace race. Yes 2040m. Doubt there is any superstar older horse in this so lean to him at the odds.

Add to that the fact he had CAULFIELD CUP winner VIEWED as his second selection at $13.. David wrote this to Group 1 subscribers:

1- VIEWED - Absolutely zoomed late in the Turnbull. Needs to make up 3L on Predatory Pricer but the extra 400m here is the huge plus and he is weighted ok for a Melbourne Cup winner (in ok relative weights). Going better than last year to my eye (when luckless in this).
