SUMMARY OF LAST WEEK:
Racing was at MOONEE VALLEY on Saturday on SOFT-5 track with Rail 5m. The track played very well, ability and tempo were the keys to winning NOT track pattern, which is all we ask as punters yeah ?
RUN OF THE DAY:
There were a handful of exceptional performances, most noteworthy were MAWAHIBB and WORD OF MOUTH but have to give the major end of the prize to RAPOSO who missed the kick and was a mile off them, held-up, with 400m to run, once he saw daylight he flew through along the inside and won going away!
He ran the quickest of the 4 x 1200m races on the day (1-12.8) off the strongest speed (35.41 1st-600m) this early speed was a tick over 3-seconds quicker than Open Class 1200m won by Sea Lord – In other words, the leader of RAPOSO’s race, GLOOP, would have been leading this race roughly 16L midway if they’d been run together. Winner still ran a slick 12.23 last 200m despite the hot speed, good horse! VALDERRAMA measured up well, he joined in but had no answer for winner late is all. KANSAS SUNFLOWER sharply back in trip ran well and GLOOP was a fading 4th, these four had 7L to spare on 5th !!
The Open Sprint was won by SEA LORD leading all the way, he absolutely crawled in front (38.43 1st-600m), the runner-up sat 2nd, NEAREST TO PIN and 3rd-horse SOLSAY was sitting third, they went that slow the 2yo Mawahibb would have led Sea Lord about 7L midway… Anything from the back had no hope. Overall time was, of course, slow, 1-14.3
WORD OF MOUTH impressed winning Race 7, he needed a touch of luck coming to the turn but once into full momentum he rounded them up and raced away running 2:09.76 for the 2040m, this was significantly faster than the Open Class 2040m race however, the 1st-1240m split of 1-19.49 was much quicker (1.76 secs / roughly 10L). The pressure was on with SHIKARPOUR leading then attacked mid race  DOCTOR CARE was just off the winner 600m out, and no match at all but sound home into 2nd. LANNISTER ran up behind them and looked a live hope but was then dropped by the winner. GOLD MEDALS ran 12.81 home, same split late as DOCTOR CARE, winner home 12.46.
Race 6 saw ALCOHOL thrashed his rivals 3rd-up out to the mile, he too won going away and more to come from him! Admit I was pleasantly surprised to see him just off the speed on the rail, from there, he just needed the luck, it came and he sailed by SADAQA (led/ honest) and KING’S DANCE (sat 2nd/ gave his all). ONPICALO was a distant, and every chance, 4th. TRISTRAM’S UN made ground, only the winner had a quicker last 200m but he’s struggling to land one. Time: 1-38.53 off 49.24 1st-800m and this race, first four were 1-2-3-4 at that 800m mark.
Better mention impressive 2YO MAWAHIBB who went to the front with blinkers on, ran 37.22 1st-600m, then raced away! He went through the line beautifully and times back up the visually impressive win, his 11.96 last 200m was the quickest of any runner all day and he ran much quicker overall time than Sea Lord and smart filly Shakespearean Lass. DEMONSTRATE was back and wide then improved mid race, he did a great job to beat everything else clearly. TRINITY RIVER was a sound 3rd but in a different class to the quinella. Overall time: 1-13.28
THE FORGIVE FILE:
FLYING HOSTESS (poor recovery), PARMALOVE (blew start), HERSTORY (keen/ wide too soon), TESTABILITY (back/wide/keen), SANG CHOI BAO (wide), CRESTA CONDOR (breathing issue?), METAPHORICAL (back and wide), MASTER’S DEREE (had no soft run), SHIKARPOUR (attacked midway), STRIKE THE STARS (badly held-up!!), DIGITALISM (should have won!), SPECIAL MISS (covered ground), HENWOOD (tempo against – too keen) and LE REMAS (tempo against – fitter).
In Sydney it was RANDWICK on very HEAVY (10) ground. The better ground was AWAY from the inside rail.
RUN OF THE DAY:
Podium finishes go to GOD’S IN HIM (good win again – gapped 3rd) and MAGIC HURRICANE, the latter was forced to go early and forced very wide, given the strong speed in the race, he was terrific! In that same race is our ‘winner’ this week, GEORGEY AEROPLANE who made up a stack of ground on the slower inside lanes then edged off and went down narrowly, he is flying this prep and can win soon!
PAJARO won the race sitting back off that good speed and no knock. 3rd-horse CASINO DANCER is often underrated, he raced tight turning then ran home hard, only the quinella had quicker last 200m split. GHOST PROTOCOL was ok very late into 5th.
Race 7 saw AROUSED track the speed and just last to beat COSMIC CAMEO who covered a stack of ground, I know the fence was ‘off’ but swap the runs and this is your winner! KOKOMO was terrific also given he didn’t ‘’race well’’ early and was way back then made up very good ground! DESTINY RISING shared the speed (inside) and was best of those on-pace runners, clearly.
TIMELESS PRINCE won Race 6 and was beautifully ridden to the pattern, off speed past middle in home straight and beat ALIAS who just couldn’t get wide enough (where winner was). SEE THE WORLD gave them too big a start but winner was the only one to break 12-secs his last 200m here, and it was an 11.82 split. Time: 1-14.5 off 37.7 1st-600m.
Race 5 and BERRY DELICIOUS was ridden cold, made ground at the key time and ran over ELLE LOU who was sound (every hope) from midfield and in the best round. DISGRACEFUL worked a bit early and did well to hold 3rd in a better race to run on. ALEGRIA was with the winner 600m out and no match, but a solid 4th.
THE FORGIVE FILE:
MY SABEEL (no luck key stage), CAPROSSA (wide/ worked), SAVOUREUX (went to inside rail), TREE OF JESSE (worked hard early), HOLDER SUNSET (wide on-speed), AWASITA (worst ground) and PYTHAGOREAN (way too keen).

SUMMARY OF LAST WEEK:
Racing was at FLEMINGTON on Saturday on GOOD-4 to GOOD-3 track with Rail 6m. Winners came from everywhere! In the two straight races, one was won Inside, the other, outside.
RUN OF THE DAY:
Honourable mentioned this week go to EL GRECO and HUSSON EAGLE but giving the nod to AZEEMA in Race 3, she sat back, hooked out and produced a big finale to score brilliantly, in doing this she sailed by KAIZAEN (who boasts the scalp of G1 winner Amicus – that girl has finished on heels of First Seal in another G1 (Coolmore))…
…The race rated very well, winner AZEEMA ran .19 quicker than the WC Heat later in the day when recording 1-22.83 for the 1400m, the early tempo was around 3L quicker than the WC Heat though (48.05 1st-800m). KAIZAEN was a solid second and only 2nd-up this prep. ZERPRISE JOURNEY measured up well after sitting off the speed with a trail she joined in but had no answer for two aforementioned swoopers. VOILENT SNOW closed well and BONNIE BELLE after being held-up hit the line in 11.83 last 200m, only winner (11.7) was quicker late.
Onto the WC Heat which was a fantastic race, the first three here were all excellent: YESTERDAY’S SONGS overcame a troubled passage, burst through to score, yes he had the weight advantage but he impressed and can measure up to Group company in the Spring. MR UTOPIA jumped up in the weights, sat back and charged home, the quinella here both ran 11.53 (race-fastest) last 200m. GOOD VALUE was closer to the speed but 3-wide with no real cover mostly, he hit the lead but was grabbed late… Yep, all three excellent ! Of the others: ACADEMY JACK was good on-pace and any rain around will help him further. TINY’S LEGACY made ground (5th-fastest home), there were many ‘forgive file’ candidates. Time: 1-23.02 off 48.60 1st-800m.
Race 1 for 2yo’s was also 1400m, EL GRECO impressed with 59kg, he took some time to wind-up then was very strong, he is a nice mover! He ran 1-23.94 so significantly slower time than older horses however, that 1st-800m split of 49.68 gave them little hope of ‘smashing the clock’. ALMONTEEL led and held 2nd. LOOK AT ME NOW is one to follow over 1600m, loved that last 100m, in fact, the 11.52 last 200m was 3/100ths quicker than the winner’s !!
HARD ROMP was Race 5 and ran fast time (1-2.93 is just .78 off the track record) and did it up in the weights today, he is at a new level this prep. NADEEM LASS ailed home 11.50 last 200m on outside rail for second, that late split was quick for the day. KLISHINA was a sound 3rd and STEREOSONIC hit the wire, home 11.87 was 2nd-fastest of the race but he is hard to trust.
HUSSON EAGLE showed his class winning Race 6 despite being closest to the inside rail, it was a race dominated on the inside, winner ran time again (56.86) and some sizzling splits (10.66/ 10.57/ 11.12 – quickest all day) and he beat ROUGH JUSTICE who led (34.96 1st-600m) and was gallant. STAR STEALER closed nicely fresh into prep No.2 and has a future. ILLUSTRIOUS LAD was good behind them after finding some traffic, they were all on the inside. The outside division was quinellaed by CASHED (who had backing/ good run) and ROSEN FROM DOUBT (on outside rail – better effort – Gelded now!).
THE FORGIVE FILE:
FLYING GEEPEE (too keen), AUTOMATIC CHOICE (wide), OLD CUFFLINKS (bit stiff !), MICK’S HUSTLER (found trouble), TOPKAPI (wide), BONNIE BELLE (held-up/ hit line!), MANAGERESS (ditto!), CINNAMON CARTER (wide), ANATINA (lame), TREVINDER (cardiac arrhythmia), HEAVY (may well have won), BERSERK (baulked/ tight key stages), SISTINE STAR (wide), PURREAL (heart irreg.), SIR ANDREW (luckless), HE OF SHE (stopped when building!), TRIED AND TIRED (held-up/ way back 60kg), FUTURE SOLUTION (covered ground), HOSTING (no guide), SELF SENSE (respiratory issues).
In SYDNEY it was ROSEHILL on SOFT-6 ground, most winners swooped today (two sat handy) but all were off that inside rail.
RUN OF THE DAY:
Podium is filled by three winners today, BROOK ROAD, REIGNING but major ‘prize’ goes to FIFTYSHADESOFGREY who came from way back and was held-up just when she wanted to be building momentum, she found room and rattled home to nail the leader…
…that leader was TRUE BLUE who had run a 37.13 1st-600m and kicked strongly, she gave winner 4.5kg too. FLORAL GOLD came down the outside for third but was no match for the winner. AMAZON kept closing and doubt was in the A-ground, wants further now too I fancy. Time: 1-12.6
Great to see the smart BROOK ROAD back to her best, she won Race 5 sitting off the speed and travelled up (bolting!!) before the easy win. WONDERBOLT was on her back and had 4.5kg less, ran home well for second. KRISTY LEE’s last 100m was very nice, 1100m is not her go, she had trialled super prior and is in for another good prep. They ran 1-5.47 for 1100m off an even 30.59 1st-500m split.
REIGNING has come back in terrific order this prep, he was ridden for luck, burst through and nailed BAGMAN who looked home, he had scouted wider on the turn and certain covered more ground than the winner, DREAM FOLK ran home well for third from last, in fact, the trifecta here were last, 2nd-last and 3rd-last at the 1000m. That adds merit to ECUADOR’s run given he was on-speed with 60.5kg, thought MISSVONN was terrific here too given she covered ground in swoopers race.  The first four over the line covered just .5L – Time: 2-.03.8 for the 2000m.
Another swooper won Race 7, ROCKALONG, came from back/wide with the trail (good recipe today) and ran over GRAND PUNTO who had the good run, he was well-backed. MORAL VICTORY led in 46.7 1st-750m and held 3rd. LUNAR RISE covered ground and stuck to the task gamely. Not sure what is going on with BASCULE… Jury is out now! Time: 1-21.89 – Note, 2yo’s in Race 1 ran 1-22.17 for the same trip, their early split was quicker too, 46.11
THE FORGIVE FILE:
MERI RANI (wide/ did well), STIMULI (keen/ attacked lead 600m), BETTER NOT BLUE (forgetful day!), SKRIPCHENKO (in worst ground and poor recovery), SENTA DE NOCHE (rolled inside rail and worst ground), ABBASSO (needed more room/ hmmm), PUNCH YOUR WEIGHT (worst ground/ fitter anyway), HOLY DELUSIONS (tardy/ stayed inside) and CATSEYE SURPRISE (wide run).

SUMMARY OF LAST WEEK:
Racing was at MOONEE VALLEY on Saturday on a SOFT-5 to GOOD-4 (upgraded) track, the rail was TRUE, the pattern was suiting those away from the inside rail. No leaders won (two ran second), and all nine winners were off that inside rail in the home straight.
RUN OF THE DAY:
Thought both LORD DURANTE (led Vs pattern) and ORION were terrific, and they made the podium, however, giving the main honours to the promising ACT OF VALOUR. Yes he was well ridden and had a nice drag into the race but he quickly put a good field away (and was well backed)…
…the race ‘’rated’’ highly on the day too, his overall time of 1-31.87 was only .10 off that of ORION for the same 1500m trip later in the day on an improving track and much quicker than the following race (also 1500m) won by SMASHING DOUBT, in fact he ran .34 quicker than Smashing Doubt despite the 1st-900m split of 55.73 being some 7-8L slower!! Wow. The runner-up here was MANHATTAN AVENUE who was just held up a touch at a vital stage then strong at the wire, he beat 3rd easily and gave the promising winner 3.5kg, and was 2nd-up 1200-to-1500m, follow! RECALCULATE joined in before the turn and was a sitting shot for the quinella given then pattern, he ran well, similarly SECRET BLEND was there early and ran well. ROCK OF CAISEAL had 3rd-quickest final 200m and broke 12-secs (11.98) behind quinella who both recorded an 11.72.
SMASHING DOUBT won Race 4 well off that strong (54.46 1st-900m) tempo and no shock he improved on drier to this trip, great to see KING WAY run well, he raced tight at the vital stage too, he should have finished closer to the winner and he does have some world-class form lines at home. NORTHERN JET joined in wide (best ground) before the turn and ran well, the quinella had the last crack, both SAWAWAK and TALLAT were good for something easier nearer to the speed on a better day/race to swoop.
METAPHORICAL won Race 6, she was well ridden but did chase hard and was giving weight to some males, runner-up LORD DURANTE led in 48.91 but then went for home 600m out and gave a huge sight against the pattern, winner wants 2000m now. REFULGENT is testing the friendship but was solid again and DIGITALISM was near the winner 500m out, didn’t quicken (and was left by her) but wound up late, he ran 12.12 last 200m whilst winner was race-fastest 12.05. Overall time: 1-37.48 for the mile, they went 1.8-seconds quicker, overall, than the other mile race won by EAST AFRIKA (queries on rating of THAT race!!).
Race 7 saw ORION come from last and widest, he kept finding and all honours to him (albeit with no weight) beating JESSY BELLE (every chance/ solid) and CHARMED HARMONY (brave leading Vs pattern) with MISS ROSE DE LAGO (solid 2nd-up herself), these four had a little margin on VENTURE ON who worked home OK for something easier. LUCKYI’MBAREFOOT was sound for something wetter also. Early split 55.87 and overall: 1.31.77
No knock on KAREEMING winning Race 8, yes he had the right run but it was his first go 2500m and he beat a handy field. BLACK JAG was gallant, again, given the pattern at stupid odds. LADY CUMQUAT was the best closer (also her first go 2500m) and USE THE LOT stuck ok but did split the quinella in the run. Nothing really stormed home this race….? Hmmm.
THE FORGIVE FILE:
HARD LIL (held-up/ lost spot), SISTINE STAR (held up badly!), FITNA (too keen/ pattern against), VOLCANIC ASH (led keen Vs pattern), OH SO ASSERTIVE (too much pressure), CARASHAN GIRL (worked the first 800m of the race!), JUST HARLEY (swoopers race), GO DE ORPEN (still not out), GLOWSTICKS (pressured Vs bias), DEFINIA (worked early vs bias), CORONATION SHALLAN (in worst ground), CLANGA’S GLORY (wide), VERDANT (lame), MONKSTONE (blocked key stage) and NULLEI (worst going).
IN SYDNEY it was ROSEHILL on SOFT-7 track with rail 3m. The better ground was away from the inside rail here also and swappers certainly had their chance.
RUN OF THE DAY:
Both ECUADOR and VERGARA impressed leading all the way but giving main ‘prize’ here too MIGHTY LUCKY who chased the tearaway leader, collared him, and then held off all-bar one despite staying too close to those inside lanes…
…said winner was YOU’LL NEVER who is deadly when things pan out for him, and the tempo is there, he certainly had both factors in his favour today and duly saluted! RUGED CROSS was good, the big query was the drop to 1400m and suspect that’s what beat him. EIGELSTEIN was very good late, his 12.24 last 200m was race-fastest and he can win soon if tracks remain wet. They ran 1.26.27 for 1400m here.
Race 6 saw SAVOUREUX win, luckily, but we never decry winning form. Runner-up KAEPERNICK just threw the race away by laying on badly late, he is a serious talent! AEROBAR shared the speed and held 3rd (best on-pacer) and GRUNDERZEIT was crowded up when the wayward Kaepernick went by and certainly forgive the margin, however, yeah, that horse went straight by him!
Race 7 and VERGARA led/impressed beating ROLE MODEL who sat second. GEORGEY AEROPLANE was the pick of the closers (home 11.88 last 200m was race-fastest) and HOLLYWOOD BOUND was quite good making ground nearer the inside given, as stated, this race the quinella sat 1st, 2nd.
In the last AUSSIES LOVE SPORT onto better than Heavy round was a shade too strong sitting off the strong speed, he was well ridden from awkward inside alley and did give plenty of weight to the placegetters so… hard to pot the win! TURBULENT JET is going super and was very strong at the wire (just missed/ ran 11.9 last 200m/ He was only horse to break 12-secs that last 200m). MORAL VICTORY went well, he took over after sitting just off the hot speed but the swoopers arrived. ROCKALONG kept finding the line and GOT THE GOSS was good late (home 12.1).
THE FORGIVE FILE:
SHELLEYS GIRL (wide), RAIN AFFAIR (led Vs pattern but…it’s Rain Affair!!), AERONAUTICAL (unsuited), BASCULE (blew start), CAMPANOLOGY (worst ground), IMPULSIVE SPIRIT (wide).

G1 Email 30th May

PLEASE NOTE:
All ratings for MOONEE VALLEY are for GOOD-4 track. Rail is TRUE. We have not raced here since March 27th when rail was 3m and there was no mad pattern/bias. Expecting a level playing field but with no traffic on that inside section for a long while I doubt the inside rail will chop out (like it can with True rail here). Watch and monitor!
In Sydney we are at ROSEHILL. Ratings are for GOOD-4/ SOFT-5 range. Rail is 3m (was True last meeting here) and expecting even racing with run-ons having their chance if tempo is there.
BET OF THE DAY (Melb)
MOONEE VALLEY – Race 6 No.6 – METAPHORICAL – Had little luck/room fresh then held-up key stage in Adelaide last time and just missed The Bowler who carried some amazing form lines into that race (Kenjorwood/ Longeron/ Silverball). Won very well here last prep at 2040m.
BET OF THE DAY (Syd)
ROSEHILL – Race 6 No.6 – KAEPERNICK - Nice trial then terrific return given he didn’t look all that happy on the Soft-7 track. He beat a good field. He won (maiden) 2nd-up last prep. Smart.
BEST VALUE BET OF THE DAY
MOONEE VALLEY – Race 3 No.6 – DUANEO – Off back-to-back dominant wins his last two, in latest he easily beat Alcobro who was coming off a 3rd in Listed race to Japhills, that filly ran OK to The Bowler and Co. last week. Should relish 1500m. Can measure up! Come up $15 in places.
BEST EACH-WAY BET OF THE DAY
MOONEE VALLEY – Race 7 No.12 – JESSY BELLE – Hit line hard (best late splits of the day) fresh in on-pace (good form) race then came wide and again was the best closer in a race dominated by those inside/on-speed. Reckon she is flying and 1500m, on a track she loves, 3rd-up looks ideal… Looks the overs at $8 being shopped
BEST ROUGHIE OF THE DAY
ROSEHILL – Race 3 No.4 – LUCY’S LOOK – Faded badly on very wet last time. Missed kick fresh prior. 3rd-up last prep she was unlucky not to beat Sebrina (so stiff last week) with Joadja (ran well behind Algeria recently) 3rd. Onto drier ground here! Improver at odds? Worth a play at $18 surely!?!?
Lay Of The Day:
ROSEHILL – Race 1 No.1 – PRESS STATEMENT – Won quite well on debut but the form isn’t exactly outstanding and they want us to take, what, $2.3… Unders!!!
TOP-RATED RUNNERS:
MOONEE VALLEY

Race 1 – 2YO – 1200m
  1. 8 – BATTLE OF TROY – Jumped out super before the debut when wide early and very new to it all, he ran well, like blinkers going on here and winner of that Caulfield race had trialled brilliantly prior.
  2. 4 – KINGLIKE – His debut was every bit as good as Battle Of Troy’s at Caulfield, he came wide a way out and was also very raw/new, he ran in but ran home hard! Expecting that form to be strong.
  3. 1 – ALKAASHEF – Backed off the nap on debut and sat wide/won anyway, he didn’t run great overall time (Prestwick – who is here – was .36 quicker) but in this race they were some 6-7L slower their 1st-600m so they had no hope of running slick overall time!
  4. 2 – EL GRECO – Strong debut win despite drifting $10-to-$14 and runner-up beat 3rd easily, they ran 6L+ quicker than older horses later that day!
  5. 9 – IRON BOSS – 1st-start. Went nicely in recent jump outs. Dam was a mutilple G1 winner. Big watch.
Race 2 – 3YOF Hcp – 1600m
  1. 5 – LOVEHEART LASS – Was 1400-to-2000m at Caulfield latest, went way back from a bad gate and made nice ground. She was good in a strong race Vs males prior at that 1400m. Back to mile here but speed on paper suits and there are holes in the form of a few here.
  2. 7 – FITNA – Led until late 1st-up Ballarat against older/males on heavy. Jumps quickly to 1600m but respect stable and she does have Magicool form on her CV. To own age/sex here. Measures up?
  3. 6 – SEBRING WARRIOR – Warmed up late at Caulfield off a modest 49.7 1st-800m and she is desperate for 1600m. Oak Park Goblet beat her 3-back (both fresh) but this girl flew home against the bias that day and meets her 2.5kg better today.
  4. 2 – OAK PARK GOBLET – Good return win then drew 1 and raced on slower inside lanes Flemington, forget that. Jumps quickly to 1600m but that shapes as ok. Maps well.
  5. 3 – TEARS OF JOY – Thought she was excellent two-back when on-speed/inside in swoopers race, on swoopers track. Forget last start happened! Best blowout hope?
Race 3 – 3YO – 1500m
  1. 6 – DUANEO – Off back-to-back dominant wins his last two, in latest he easily beat Alcobro who was coming off a 3rd in Listed race to Japhills, that filly ran OK to The Bowler and Co. last week. Should relish 1500m. Can measure up!
  2. 1 – MANHATTAN AVENUE – Good return in high-rating 3yo race won by Durendal who had run well in Stks race in Adelaide prior with limited luck, the first four from this guys race fresh thrashed the others. He won hot maiden 2nd-up last prep then chased Kermadec/ Stratum Star. Great form.
  3. 9 – RECALCULATE – Just no match for It’s About You (Turfane 3rd – is here) but that horse had run well to Durendal prior so that ties him in nicely. Proven 1500m now. Nicely drawn. Value?
  4. 7 – VOLCANIC ASH – Trialled very well before good return win beating another promising one in St Cajetan. That was his first run as a gelding. Doubt 1500m an issue. In this.
  5. 3 – SECRET BLEND – Good back to slower inside lanes Flemington latest behind two handy males, needs to run 1500m now which is some query but in the mix for sure.
Race 4 – BM70 – 1500m
  1. 9 – CARASHAN GIRL – Led against the pattern Sale (Metro meeting) last time and ran very well, she was backed, winner Whistle Baby then won well Flemington last week, 2nd-horse Noela’s Choice meets this girl 1.5kg worse.
  2. 10 – NOELA’S CHOICE – Found line well in that Whistle Baby race and that form is well stamped now. Sits off the good speed and note, her one go 1500m she won a City BM70 race.
  3. 4 – SMASHING DOUBT – Outsprinted fresh but she did find the wire (was backed heavy) then forget wet track miss last time. Big improver here drier/1500m, 3rd-up? Overs??
  4. 11 – OH SO ASSERTIVE – Won one of these (well) Bendigo at 1400m then surprised they went back to 1000m last time. Now back out to 1500m claiming down. Can win.
  5. 3 – LANNISTER – Ridden too close fresh then sound with mixed luck Caulfield last time. To BM70 3rd-up and 1500m suitable. Chance.
Race 5 – BM70 – 1000m
  1. 14 – PILLY’S WISH – Resumes. Really found the line in good race fresh last prep. Her previous fresh run she beat Srikandi here, at this trip, in this grade. Can certainly win!
  2. 7 – PINK PERFECTION – Resumes. Never missed the trifecta fresh. Beat all-bar Lateva fresh last prep in this class then won Flemington beating older mares.
  3. 4 – HUNTING HILL – Resumes. Wide on-speed and top win in BM64 fresh last prep. He was luckless here when 2.2L 5th before the spell, that was his only top-3 miss!
  4. 5 – MAGNARO – Sound return and was close-up 4th off wide run 2nd-up last prep, that was his only top-2 miss 2nd-up.
Race 6 – Hcp – 1600m
  1. 4 – METAPHORICAL – Had little luck/room fresh then held-up key stage in Adelaide last time and just missed The Bowler who carried some amazing form lines into that race (Kenjorwood/ Longeron/ Silverball). Won very well here last prep at 2040m.
  2. 5 – TEXT’N HURLEY – Forget she ran fresh (heart irregularity) then held-up touch and went through the line nicely behind The Bowler/ Metaphorical. Loves The Valley. Has 2.5kg on Metaphorical and can certainly win, if she is not looking for further now?
  3. 2 – TRISTRAM’S SUN – Good in Wangoom (beat Mr Utopia – won well last week) then jumped 12-to-1600m Caulfield and was close-up to Red Bomber which is easy to tie in with Metaphorical from last prep.
  4. 3 – LORD DURANTE – May lead here and this track tends to suit those much better than Flemington, in fact, 2 of his 3 runs this prep he was been good on-pace in run-ons races. Mile no issue.
  5. 7 – DIGITALISM – Crossed the line with Longeron last time, behind Kenjorwood, that form looks even more outstanding now…and ties in through The Bowler. Has a case then!
Race 7 – BM90 – 1500m
  1. 12 – JESSY BELLE – Hit line hard (best late splits of the day) fresh in on-pace (good form) race then came wide and again was the best closer in a race dominated by those inside/on-speed. Reckon she is flying and 1500m, on a track she loves, 3rd-up looks ideal… Looks the overs!
  2. 6 – MISS ROSE DE LAGO – Did not ping but was strong late and won fresh (best backed runner) beating home Jessy Belle, if anything, 1500m suits her much better! In ok relative weights. Goes forward. Clear winning hope also.
  3. 1 – CHARMED HARMONY – Beat all-bar good one last time and this surface, this 1500m trip should suit him touch better. Pattern important for him.
  4. 11 – CORONATION SHALLAN – Must have a case on that Miss Rose De Lago form (fresh run good off wide-ish trip).
  5. 13 – ORION – Won well 3rd-up and has a case with no weight but needs luck/pattern now?
Race 8 – BM90 – 2500m
  1. 7 – SECOND BULLET – Covered a stack of ground Caulfield last time, looked gone, then came again! Thought the run was excellent and immediately thought, this guy will get further… First try 2500m here. Good/Even race this.
  2. 2 – VERDANT – Looks so ready to win! Made up good ground last time (only Kenjorwood was home quicker) despite not being in the best ground and finally he gets to staying trip. Hmmm.
  3. 9 – KILLARNEY KID – Good Oz debut win beating Kareeming who then beat Second Bullet and Co. Fancy he is better for that first Oz run too. To 2500m. Goes close.
  4. 5 – KAREEMING – Good on-speed to Second Bullet in run-ons race then chased Kilarney Kid. Nice ride/Strong win last time beating key rivals here. Must have a case too.
  5. 6 – LADY CUMQUAT (first go trip)
  6. 3 – BLACK JAG – (forgive latest/ leaders winning?) and 11-GOLDEN MANE – Alll have cases made…
Race 9 – BM78 – 1200m
  1. 3 – MARSEILLE ROULETTE – Resumes. Led/Won trial 5L (ridden out). Back to homeland. Go back two preps and he is on the heels of Dissident fresh-up. Doubt 78 grade is too strong!
  2. 7 – SOCIETY MAN – BEat one home fresh but ran well for mine. Beaten a lip by Burbero 2nd-up last prep, that guy went on to run well in a G1. Overs??
  3. 17 – NULLEI – Was not in the A-groun dilates, forgive, form around Chiquada and Charles In Charge prior reads well for 78 class.
  4. 8 – GRAND EMPEROR – Good fresh from back/wide and he has 2nd-up form… Has run well in much stronger grade too.
  5. 5 – ACADEMY JACK – Going well and likes it here (Jar out of track!). Goes in also.
ROSEHILL

Race 1 – 2YO – 1350m
  1. 2 – SO WILLIE – Missed kick on debut and went well then came wide (winner Coys saved ground) and stretched out nicely. Jump to 1350m looks ideal.
  2. 4 – SHARDS – Very new on debut but ran well behind Bring A Secret, 2nd there was Coys so that is easy to tie in. Better for that debut! Danger.
  3. 1 – PRESS STATEMENT – Was big odds on debut but won quite well in a race of some depth on paper, 3rd-horse Reincarnate was then unplaced behind Skyclad who was 3rd behind So Willie last week.
  4. 5 – PRAECEREUS – Sound debut Echuca, winner was well-backed and is down to run Flemington race 1 today so….
  5. 8 – DIZZY DIVA – 1st-start. Beaten for speed in trial but warmed up well late, no shock they kick off at 1350m here.
Race 2 – F&M BM76 – 1900m
  1. 10 – IMPERIAL LASS – Down to run Qld. If here she looks the one to beat, she kept finding the line last time behind smart Ballet Suite and had Hi World form earlier in the prep. Too good with no weight if here??
  2. 3 – ROYAL ADVENTURE – Went early/Collared late Canterbury last time and liked the gap to 3rd. Drier ground holds no fears.
  3. 2 – WHITE DOVE – Could be the sharp improver here onto drier ground with blinkers added, she comes back to her best winning distance range too.
  4. 4 – MISSVONN – Ok fresh on bog track then did make ground Randwick mile 2nd-up. Its not a deep field and 1900m suits 3rd-up. Boasts 2nd to Arabian Gold at 2000m at 3yo.
  5. 1 – CARRY ON SINGING – Backed at odds and won Bm70 to 2000m 2nd-up, was long way off Royal Adventure prior but, was 1st-up there…. Claim important.
Race 3 – 3YOF BM74 – 1400m
  1. 4 – LUCY’S LOOK – Faded badly on very wet last time. Missed kick fresh prior. 3rd-up last prep she was unlucky not to beat Sebrina (so stiff last week) with Joadja (ran well behind Algeria recently) 3rd. Onto drier ground here! Improver at odds?
  2. 2 – ALGERIA – Well backed and strong fresh win beating subsequent winner Campania, 3rd-Joadja ties in. This girl was 1L off smart Wine Tales 2nd-up in first prep. Go well.
  3. 1 – BERRY DELICIOUS – Bloused by good one (Kaepernick) fresh then found trouble key stage and hit line behind another good one (Tree Of Jesse) last week. To own sex. Her Good Project form ties in easily with Algeria also.
  4. 8 – FILL ME UP – Huge odds in Denises Joy but ran enormous, she was 2L off G1 horse Winx! That was just start two, and, doubt she was in the A-ground there… Has all the upside!
  5. 9 – MODESTY – Won the maiden well enough Gosford and also has real scope… Never seen dry so?
Race 4 – Eremien Hcp – 1800m
  1. 1 – PHEIDON – Led and too good fork in-form Rugged Cross fresh then forget Scone Cup miss when back and wide. He was beaten 2L in G1 Epsom 3rd-up last prep then beat Extra Zero (2nd in G1 Aust Cup).
  2. 7 – DARCI MAGIC – Covered ground and ran well in that Scone Cup off solid win over Sense Of Occasion (form franked) and Intimate Moment. In well weights Vs Pheidon.
  3. 2 – ECUADOR – Jumped sharply to 2000m last time and faded. Nutted by Rugged Cross prior ties him in easily and now 3rd-up off that long spell looks ready?
  4. 5 – INTIMIATE MOMENT – Came wide/Ran well in that Darci Magic race and meets that girl 5kg better here! Didn’t finish off latest at 2000m, to 1800m here.
  5. 8 – REIGNING – Went well fresh on very wet making good ground. Jumps to 1800m and ideally suited with jar out of track so… Check rating!

Race 5 – Octagonal Hcp – 1400m

  1. 7 – DIVERTIRE – Missed kick and did some early work WFM yet was only 2L off the flying Silverball, 7-weeks off into Dark Jewel but was too strong. Dry no issue for her but less of an advantage for key rivals.
  2. 3 – RUGGED CROSS – Luckless 1st-up then won (beat good field – blanket finish) 2nd-up. Could not reel in Pheidon latest but good again. Back to 1400m on improving track are little queries but going super this  prep and hard to beat!
  3. 4 – YOU’LL NEVER – Sat back off fast pace and produced big finish to win here fresh. He won fresh last prep then ran good 1L 4th here 1350m 2nd-up in very similar race too this one.
  4. 5 – AMOVATIO – Trialled super before good return when weaved through and found line, was 4.6L off You’ll Never there. Has good 2nd-up form and overall record here is super… Weight swing on You’ll Never helps too.
  5. 1 – RAIN AFFAIR – Set fast pace and held on well last time in swoopers race. Drier ground (?) and the fact he hasn’t won for ages are obvious queries.
Race 6 – 3YO BM79 – 1200m
  1. 6 – KAEPERNICK – Nice trial then terrific return given he didn’t look all that happy on the Soft-7 track. He beat a good field. He won (maiden) 2nd-up last prep. Smart.
  2. 3 – BASCULE – Resumes. Throttled in recent trial but went over line beautifully. Won Flemington BM78 fresh last prep then was just no match for seasoned, older (flying!) horse The Bowler.
  3. 4 – GRUNDERZEIT – Nice return win (runner-up unplaced Wednesday) and he did win BM70 easily 2nd-up last prep before failing at 1400m (leading any help?) in Sat class. Highly promising also.
  4. 2 – MOHAVE – Had no peace up front in Kaepernick (run-ons race) last time and forgive. Drier ground  a plus and gets it softer on-speed here? In very well relative weights after claim too. Go well if here not Qld.
  5. 1 – GOOD PROJECT – Also a key hope on that Kaepernick form if here.
  6. 7 – AEROBAR – Resumes. Trialled quite well behind Brazen Beau and beat Bascule in the trial. Won 1st-up last prep.
Race 7 – BM85 – 1500m
  1. 7 – CAMPANOLOGY – Looked almost ready 2nd-up when 4L off Silverball then raced in inferior round Caulfield, had little hope again on that track last time when wide. Value??
  2. 6 – HOLLYWOOD BOUND – Finished with Song And Laughter (good last week) two-back then back to midweeks and too good for them with big weight last time. Form here is better than it reads.
  3. 11 – ALL CERISE – Was 7-weeks between runs into the Dark Jewel and was not in the A-ground. To 1500m and Cassidy up, she is up to these with 54kg but hasn’t won for a while now. Goes in for mine.
  4. 2 – GREAT ESTEEM – Jumped to 1600m and only beaten 2L in Scone Cup last time. He won WFM 3rd-up last prep, then again 4th-up. Back to BM85 class. Can win.
  5. 9 – MR ONE ELEVEN – Good return (home hard in best ground) and he flew home Canterbury 2nd-up last prep… Does he want further now, thats the tiny query??
  6. 8 – ROLE MODEL – Wide (but race 10 me ants he was in best ground) and solid in that Mr One Eleven race. Was 7-weeks off there so fitter. Chance.
Race 8 – BM85 – 1200m
  1. 3 – AUSSIES LOVE SPORT – Chased Dublin Lass fresh (then G2 placed) before striking bottomless track and forget Hawkesbury. Drier ground, gate 1, and wonder if he is near that form that saw him competitive with Eurozone/ Criterion at 3yo??
  2. 2 – GOT THE GOSS – Two runs off 71-week break, two terrific wins, in latest he sat wide and ran over subsequent winner Loved Up. Won 7 of 10 now!
  3. 13 – MAYSOON – Resumes. Untouched/Good recent trial. Was only 3.9L off Target In Sight fresh last prep. That may be good enough! Has form here. Chance.
  4. 5 – OFF THE RAILS – Resumes. Beat one home in trial but went nicely and produced big finish to win fresh last prep, beating, wait for it… Dublin Lass…. That ties in!!
  5. 7 – SENSE AND REASON – Good return win but things panned out well. Won 2 of 3 second-up. Won twice here. She has a case.
  6. 11 – TURBULENT JET – Good fresh himself and another with claims.
Good luck !
