Summary/ Forgive File (Zipping Day) + SANL tips Wed.

SUMMARY OF LAST WEEK:
Racing was at SANDOWN (Hillside) on Saturday. Track was GOOD and Rail was TRUE. There was no mad pattern or bias. Winner’s came from everywhere, most avoided the inside lanes later in the day but the leader of the final race did run second, at big odds.

RUN OF THE DAY: Honorable mentions this week go to THE FRENCH HOUSE and BERISHA but have to go with POLITENESS in the final event, she sat back off a modest tempo, she had partial cover, then charged out after leader and rushed past to win running away by 2L.

The leader (and runner-up) was JUDICIAL ROCK who did give a good sight, she led her 1st-900m in 56.38 which was 2.2-seconds (roughly 13L) slower than Spacecraft (who led the other 1500m race – won by Pornichet) and stayed on the inside lanes. 3rd was AVA’S DELIGHT who (of course) blew the start and ran home hard. ROSE OF CHOICE was following winner POLITENESS and finished well, but was no match. NADEEM LASS wound-up strongly late, only winner had a faster last 200m, this girl was home 11.65. Winner, 11.58. Overall time: 1-31.15

Back to Race 2 then and PORNICHET was mile too good for these, yeah he did a bit wrong again and raced keen, then perhaps was a little lost in front but has a splash of class I fancy! He won in 1-29.61 so significantly faster than Politeness (same trip) but as mentioned, they went much quicker their 1st-900m, it was run here in 54.17 by SPACECRAFT who held 3rd, between them was GENERAL GROOVE who worked home nicely, he ran a 12.29 last 200m, bettered only by REFER who had missed the kick, strong home, 12.22. SPEEDINESS was way below his best, spell time !!

Zipping Classic was Race 5 and AU REVOIR had the right run on-speed, he had to really fight though as EPINGLE challenged strongly to his inside, fancy she reached the lead 200m out too, no shock the MV Cup form kept holding up here, 3rd was PRINCE OF PENZANCE who did well given he overraced badly for the first 1000m of the race. SPILLWAY loomed, but the end of 2400m really tests him and he was a good risk. GREEN MOON is g-a-w-n-e!! Time: 2:32.06

The Eclipse was Race 6 and ZABISCO nailed PHEIDON right on the wire thanks to A) A lovely ride and B) rider on PHEIDON pulling the trigger a long way out, given he was wide early in the race, his effort to be beaten in the last hop was excellent. EXTRA ZERO ridden colder ran home well, only ESCADO had a quicker last 200m split, he (Escado) just couldn’t get into the race early enough, flew late, long time between wins for these two which was always the worry I guess. RHYTHM TO SPARE was a sound 4th but had his chance. Time: 1-49.67 off 50.67 1st-800m

Sandown Guineas was Race 7 and PETROLOGY impressed, back to 1600m, last to first and swept by some smarties, think he is safe from gelding Op for now! It was a swoopers race here, 1st, 3rd, 4th all came from teh back which adds merit to runner-up STRATUM STAR who was on-speed 3rd the rail, he just had no answer for the winner but beat other swooper’s BERISHA (back/wide and excellent !!) and UNGRATEFUL ELLEN (left standing by winner but ran home well late – wants further). REKINDLED POWER was OK in 6th. They ran 1-36.74 off a solid 49.85 1st-800m.

The gelding op has worked for FAST N ROCKING, he showed great fight to beat GENERALIFE at WFA given runner-up looked to be bolting at the 300m, they got by FLAMBERGE who had sat up 2nd and he gave his all. The quinella here recorded the fastest and second-fastest last 200m splits of the day in 11.26 and 11.29 respectively. First three here had 2.5L to spare on 4th, JAZZ SONG, who worked home quite well. They ran 1-17.67 for 1300m

THE FORGIVE FILE:
BOOMGAL (wide), SERGEANT SAM (widest!), JACQUERIC (internal bleed), VIBRANT ROUGE (in trouble 900m), RED BOMBER (nearly fell turning!), THE FRENCH HOUSE (badly held-up/ flew late!), DUAL STAR (wide), RAWNAQ (lame), TRISTRAM’S SUN (mucus found), BEL THOR (sore/ too close?), LORD ASPEN (wide), ESTONIAN PRINCESS (mucus found) and BELLE DE COUER (bled).

In Sydney it was ROSEHILL and track was GOOD. Rail was 3m. No mad pattern here either, most left the inside lanes as the day went on but winner’s sat handy and came from the back.

RUN OF THE DAY:
Podium finishers are PACEMAN and COMMAND MORE but going with DOTHRAKI here, he had 60kg, he sat back and showed great acceleration to put a handy field away, quickly!

He ran 1-4.04 off the 30.32 1st-500m and more to come from this guy. GOLDSTONE was solid 2nd and every hope, winner rushed by! AGENT stayed closer to the inside and was sound in 3rd. DREAM CHOICE hit the line for 4th, went much better when outside them I noted. GREEN BERET didn’t finish off today, maybe the hard run last time took a toll?

HEART TESTA won Race 6 tracking the strong speed, he was bolting 300m out and had enough left to score, think he’d be a risk beyond 1400m let’s say, he beat a handy field too, MOURO made a pleasing return running second with his big weight. KING COBIA was 3rd, and sound (followed winner), YOU’LL NEVER made up a stack of ground and finished right on their heels, the other closer was CASUAL CHOICE (came down outside) and they ran 1-20.25 for 1350m here.

MESMEREYESER won the last sitting handy and a touch wide, he knuckled down well, by race 8 I doubt covering a bit of ground was an issue but still, others had softer runs! MISS TENPINS just missed back closer to the inside and they wore down VANILLA PRINCESS late (she led/ gave her all). COMMAND MORE was in traffic at a vital stage, clear about 330m out, and made very nice ground, can follow! They ran 1-11.13 here off 36.4 1st-600m.

THE FORGIVE FILE:
I AM ZELADY (good thing beat), GANGSTER’S CHOICE (covered ground), BEYOND THANKFUL (held-up a bit too long!), O’REILLYS REVENGE (had tough run), MAMWAAZEL (start no help!) and CHATHAM HOUSE (stayed inside!?).
